This policy explains how FenceQuote Australia, operated by QuoteBridge AU (“we”, “us”), handles personal information. It is a draft prepared without legal advice and must be reviewed by a qualified Australian lawyer before the site is published. Items marked [to be confirmed] need the business owner’s input.

1. Who we are

FenceQuote Australia is an independent fencing cost comparison and referral service. We are not a fencing contractor. Contact details are on the contact page (email only). ABN and registered address: [to be confirmed].

2. What we collect

If you only browse or use the calculator, we do not ask for personal information, and calculator inputs stay in your browser. Our hosting platform records standard website analytics (such as page views) and technical information such as your browser type and an approximate network location.

If you submit a quote request, we collect:

• your name, email address and, optionally, your mobile number;
• project details: postcode, state or territory, material, fence length and height, whether an existing fence is removed, gates and other requirements, project type, optional description, optional budget and timeline;
• the indicative estimate shown for your project, and the page you came from;
• a record of your consent (the wording you agreed to, its version and the time);
• technical anti-abuse data: a salted, one-way hash of your IP address (we do not store your IP address itself) and your browser’s user-agent string.

Please do not put sensitive information in the optional description. We do not collect payment details, and there are no user accounts.

3. Why we collect it, and our basis

• To record and respond to your enquiry and give you a reference number.
• To estimate demand by location and material, and to improve our guides and calculator.
• To prevent spam, duplicates and abuse.
• To share your enquiry with independent contractors or referral partners, but only if you tick the consent box and only as described below.

4. Sharing your enquiry

I authorise FenceQuote Australia to share the details of this enquiry (project details, my name, email address and mobile number if provided) with relevant independent contractors or referral partners, as described in the Privacy Policy. I understand that contractor availability varies by location and that no contractor is guaranteed to contact me.

We may share the specific enquiry you submit (project details, your name, email and mobile if provided) with relevant independent contractors or referral partners that cover your area and project type. Sharing depends on partner availability. At the time of writing, no live delivery to partners is switched on, and we cannot guarantee any contractor will be available or will contact you. Contractors and partners handle your information under their own privacy policies once they receive it. We will update this policy and our partner list before we start sharing enquiries.

We do not sell your information as a list, and we do not share it for unrelated marketing.

5. Where and how we store it; service providers

We use third-party service providers (“processors”) to run the site:

• Website hosting and platform analytics: Whop and the infrastructure providers it uses to host and serve this site and measure page views.
• Database: Neon (serverless PostgreSQL) stores quote requests. Storage region: [to be confirmed].

These providers may process data outside Australia. [Overseas locations to be confirmed.] We limit access to enquiry data to authorised administrators who sign in and are verified, and we keep secrets such as database credentials out of the website’s public code.

6. How long we keep it

7. Cookies and analytics

Our hosting platform may use technologies such as cookies or similar identifiers for analytics. We store a temporary project summary in your browser’s session storage so the calculator can pre-fill the quote form; it contains no personal information and is cleared when you close the tab. Optional additional analytics (such as Google Analytics) are off unless and until enabled, and this policy will be updated first.

8. Your rights: access, correction and deletion

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us from the address you used in your enquiry and quote your reference number. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you consent to sharing, you may withdraw that consent at any time, although we may not be able to recall information already passed to a contractor.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

9. Children

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy
